Charters.

Albion O.T.O. is the only O.T.O. worldwide to hold
ALL major O.T.O. lineages, including those of Aleister
Crowley (the Prophet of Thelema), Theodore
Reuss (one of the founders of O.T.O.) and other previous Heads of the
O.T.O. This reunification
of the O.T.O. system and its Magickal Current is unprecedented in
O.T.O. history. The Charters of Albion O.T.O. and the X° for
the British Isles are shown to initiates of P.I. or above of our
Order; this is in line with Point 11 of the Constitution
of O.T.O. as written by Aleister Crowley. But see also for clarification
"The O.T.O. Family
Tree". This reunification means that members of Albion
O.T.O. will obtain the full benefits of initiation within the O.T.O.
system.
Whilst this is the case, the Order's main emphasis
is on the Work done by the aspirant, both personal, and their service
to others within the Order. This is further achieved by insisting
personal progress within the Order is based solely upon completing
the Tasks of each Degree of our Curriculum, and not upon personal sponsorship (which
other O.T.O.s use) of any kind. We thereby avoid the rather
obvious problems of
favouritism, nepotism or egotism, which hamper many other Orders.
This method of course also prevents the unworthy from gaining positions
of authority within the Order. (To further ensure this Albion O.T.O.
has instituted a Complaints and Disciplinary Procedure, whereby each member of the
Order, of whatever grade, may obtain a full and fair hearing of
any grievances, should such be needed. Naturally all Members of
whatever grade - from 0°
Minerval to X°
National Grand Master - are
subject to this same Procedure.)
We respect the Work of any true O.T.O. in the
world, if they operate under valid Charters and with respect to
their membership. Although we hold all O.T.O. lineages, we do not
claim sole rights to operate the O.T.O. system, as this is neither
desirable nor even possible. (Besides, certain O.T.O. rituals and
documents themselves state that anyone with valid Charters and the
appropriate degree of authority may operate the O.T.O. system.)
Therefore Albion O.T.O. recognises all previous valid O.T.O.
initiation degrees obtained elsewhere by Initiates, and such degrees
may be carried into Albion O.T.O. and recognised as such - subject
to proper degree documentation being shown and fulfilment of our own
entry requirements. If such aspirants with previous O.T.O.
initiation wish to apply for membership in Albion O.T.O. they should
write directly to the Grand Secretary General at secretary@oto.org.uk
with some background details. Evidently all controversies re. lineages
of O.T.O. are now null and void, as all lineages have been reunified,
and the Work may resume afresh of the promulgation of the Law of
Thelema in the world. All those who are "True Brothers and
Sisters" and wish to participate in this Work may be sure they will "receive
hospitality within the guarded borders of the Order".
