Lord or Lady of the Double Horizon.
The Tasks of this Degree are made known to the Initiate upon advancement.
Initiates here are "outside of the Order" and "inbetween
worlds".
Lover.
Lovers. (V°-VII°degrees.)
The Initiate who attains to the Rose-Croix will have other Magickal
Schools and instruction made available to them. They may take these
up as they will, and are not expected to follow any particular course
- they may be part of the physical Outer Order or not, as they will.
But they must attain in one discipline of Magick or Mysticism and
become an authority on that subject within the Order. This manifests
the idea of a modern Mystery School. Initiates here "manifest
the Beauty of the Order".
Knight or Dame of the Graal.
At this stage in the Order the Brother or Sister will be aware of
the need for concentrating their energies so they may work their
Will in the World. This will usually imply a period of seperation
in one sense or another. They therefore again find themselves "outside
of the Order" but upon the necessity of their own Will. The
Tasks of the Degree will be evident at this stage, as relating to
the work of the Hermit.
Hermit.
Hermit. (VIII° and IX° degrees.)
The Initiate here will work their Will, as they will - they will
have an effect upon the whole Order, whether conscious or no. Initiates
here "give only of their Light unto Men". Nevertheless,
they are expected to keep a Record of their work within the Sanctuary
of the Gnosis; this then becomes a vital part of the Storehouse
of Knowledge for the Order, and the private Library of the Initiates
of the Gnosis within the Order. This manifests a true Sanctuary
of the Gnosis.
Double-Headed Baphomet (XI° degree.)
Is "outside of the Order", but after another manner. There are no
set rules to the work of this degree. The Initiate determines the Work that they Will to do - the Formula
will vary
from Initiate to Initiate - "there is no law beyond Do what
thou wilt". Yet having come thus far, the Initiate's Work will
by definition be for the greater good of the Order, whether conscious
or no.
